Bird Breeding and Research Centre Specialist

This role will oversee the daily operations of the centre, ensuring the successful breeding of bird species for guest experience in walkthrough aviaries and conservation purposes.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for avian welfare and be skilled in managing day-to-day operations, animal care protocols, and team management.
Main Responsibilities:- Breed birds according to collection plan priorities, meeting the needs of guests and conservation goals.
- Maintain the health, welfare, and proper care of birds by reviewing and implementing animal care protocols, monitoring animal behaviour and health, and coordinating veterinary care with the healthcare department.
- Bachelor's degree in zoology or a related life science discipline.
- Substantial experience working as an aviculturist in a zoological or conservation-breeding facility.
- Excellent understanding of environmental and behavioural requirements of birds.
- Leadership qualities and experience in staff training and capacity building would be an advantage.
