Bird Breeding and Conservation Specialist

This is a senior-level role that involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Avian Breeding and Research Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful breeding of bird species and building the capacity of a young team.
About the Role- Breed birds following collection plan priorities, guest experience needs in walkthrough aviaries, and threatened species conservation.
- Evaluate and implement animal care protocols to ensure health, welfare, and proper care of birds.
- Collection Plant Implementation:
Breed birds in accordance with established protocols to meet guest experience requirements and threatened species conservation objectives. - Facilities Management:
Maintain animal habitats and aviaries in accordance with Mandai Wildlife Group standards. - Capacity Building:
Develop a young team by supervising, mentoring, and training staff members. - Scientific Research:
Conduct or assist in research projects related to bird breeding and behavior.
- Bachelor's degree in zoology or a related life science discipline.
- Substantial experience working as an aviculturist in a zoological or conservation-breeding facility.
- Strong knowledge of environmental and behavioral requirements of birds.
- Good understanding of animal welfare principles.
- Experience in bird reproduction requirements, mating opportunities, and health checks.
- Ability to lead and develop a team.
