Senior Occupational Care Specialist

About the Role:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, with a particular focus on dementia care. They will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment and intervention services to individuals with dementia and their carers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify the individual's needs and develop personalized care plans
- Implement evidence-based interventions to improve functional abilities and quality of life
- Provide education and support to carers on dementia management and caregiving strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and outcomes
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC)
- Full registration with AHPC
- At least 2 years of professional practice experience
- Experience working in dementia care, geriatrics, or mental health settings an asset
- Excellent customer service skills, active listening skills, and positive attitude
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy
