Job Title: Engineering Officer

As an engineering officer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of a tug's engine room and deck machinery. This includes running and maintaining the engine room and deck machinery, bunkering and monitoring fuel/oil consumption, and attending to minor repairs of tug equipment and machinery.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and operate the tug's engine room and deck machinery in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Run and maintain the engine room and deck machinery as per established protocols.
  • Monitor and manage fuel/oil consumption of the craft.
  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance of tug equipment and machinery.
  • Record and report any breakdowns of engine, machinery, or accidents in the Engine Log Book.
  • Submit detailed PM defect lists prior to scheduled maintenance dates.
  • Assist technicians during repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure regular greasing and maintenance of on-board machinery, equipment, etc.
  • Handle towlines/tow winch and equipment during tug operations as instructed by the Tug Master.
  • Carry out cleaning and maintenance work of the tug, deck, engine room, wheelhouse, and other equipment and appliances on board the tug.
  • Perform lookout duties as required by the Tug Master.
  • Attend to the safe securing of the tug moored alongside and assist in splicing/replacing tow ropes.
  • Check all life-saving apparatus and other appliances on board the tug and ensure their validity and operation readiness.
  • Perform fire-fighting duties as required.
  • Comply with relevant requirements stipulated in related documents.
  • Abide by the company's Quality Policy and Quality Objectives for service level.
  • Adhere to the company's QHSSE Policy, QHSSE Objectives, and QHSSE Management Programme.

The ideal candidate must possess a valid Port Limit Engine Driver (2nd Class) licence issued by Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore; and be willing to perform shift work.
