Steel Industry Analyst Role

We are seeking a skilled Steel Industry Analyst to join our team. This role will involve reporting into the Asia editorial Director and engaging with the EMEA region's steel trading sector for price discovery, trends, and opportunities.

About the Team

The McCloskey Steel Raw Materials team is responsible for providing integrated offerings of market intelligence, price indexes, and forecasting. Our energy transition relies on mineral-intensive processes, and we need to understand the dynamics shaping thermal and metallurgical coal, iron ore, scrap, steel, and base metals markets globally and in key regions.

About the Role

This position involves producing price assessments, analytics, and news for daily publication, focusing on Green Steel, particularly in the Chinese market. You will report steel prices weekly and generate news content on the steel sector with a focus on Green Steel.

Responsibilities
  • Report steel prices on a weekly basis, including prices and premiums for Green Steel
  • Launch new steel price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback
  • Generate news content on the steel sector with a focus on Green Steel
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have experience in the steel industry. Strong client and industry relationships are essential, as well as the ability to continually share and source market intelligence.
