Job Title: Commodity Acquisition Specialist

Job Overview

This role entails overseeing the procurement and management of commodities to ensure efficient supply chain operations.

  • Maintains regional or global responsibility for specific commodities, determining prices, sourcing, negotiations, terms & conditions, and supplier relationships.
  • Quotes and negotiates all products and services quarterly.
  • Develops customer bids within response time objectives.
  • SUPPORTS bid activities by interacting with site teams to compile and deliver material commitments.
  • Participates in commodity council corporate negotiation team and customer materials commitment process.
  • Conducts Quarterly Business Reviews with top suppliers and reviews customer BOMs.
  • Coodinates supplier communication.
  • Reviews and resolves issues on supplier performance feedback.
  • SUPPORTS site SCM buying teams during product shortages or supplier non-performance.
  • SUPPORTS customers resolving quality, serviceability, and performance issues.
  • Consolidates commitment and performance metrics.
  • Provides product cost support for assigned geographies.
  • Prepares bids including generation of BOM, cost analysis, and presentations.
Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • At least 1-3 years experience in semiconductor industry.
  • Electrical engineering related work experience advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of marketplace conditions.
  • Strong systems skills and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
  • Basis understanding of customer needs.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify, qualify, and manage a portfolio of commodity suppliers to meet business requirements.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers, develop and maintain contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including site teams and leadership, as well as external stakeholders, such as suppliers and customers.
