The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), a vital component of the College of Engineering, aims to excel in the domain of Sustainable Urban Systems. With a robust faculty of over 50 members and a student body exceeding 1,500, CEE is expanding its educational and research initiatives. The faculty is at the forefront of significant university-wide research efforts in areas such as space creation, water management, sustainable infrastructure, and maritime energy solutions. CEE is actively addressing pressing challenges in urban systems, including energy systems, urban sustainability, and resilience against various risks, alongside emerging maritime and shipping issues.
CEE plays a crucial role in enhancing higher education, driving research innovations, and delivering professional services across key disciplines within the maritime sector. The school boasts a team of distinguished faculty and researchers specializing in maritime studies, recognized for their contributions to green shipping management, big data applications in shipping and ports, sustainable shipping practices, and maritime strategy and supply chain management. Additionally, CEE is home to the Maritime Energy & Sustainable Development Centre of Excellence (MESD CoE), the first maritime research center supported by the Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI), dedicated to enhancing Singapore's maritime research and development capabilities and reinforcing its status as a global hub for maritime knowledge and innovation.
To support our ongoing development, we invite applications for a tenured faculty position (Endowed Professor) in the field of Maritime Management.
We are in search of a candidate with a well-established international reputation in research and education related to Maritime and Supply Chain Management. The ideal candidate should possess a strong focus on Maritime Management and Shipping, demonstrating expertise in at least one specialized area within this field. Preference will be given to those with a focus on supply chain resilience, decarbonization, and digital transformation. The candidate is expected to work both independently and collaboratively with fellow faculty members to secure funding for relevant research initiatives. This includes making academic or societal contributions, evidenced by publication and citation metrics, a proven record of service to the public, industry, and academic communities, successful acquisition of research grants, and an impact on industry or international recognition (e.g., delivering keynote presentations at prestigious conferences).
Qualifications

- A relevant PhD from a recognized institution
- Extensive experience in research and teaching within Maritime and Supply Chain Management
- A successful history of academic leadership and team development
- Experience in interdisciplinary research initiatives and collaboration
- A comprehensive understanding of the priorities and operations of relevant funding organizations
- Strong connections with esteemed international entities and organizations
- A record of international acclaim, including presentations at flagship conferences and publications in prestigious journals.
