Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze data on Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) performance, conditions, and practices to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct WSH compliance inspections to ensure adherence to regulations and company policies.
  • Clarify WSH programme requirements to employees of other departments to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coach team members on how to conduct routine checks on work activities to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct WSH incident and accident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct document reviews of Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Coordinate Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP) drills and the maintenance of emergency response equipment to ensure readiness.
  • Coordinate WSH programme initiatives to promote a culture of safety and health within the organization.
  • Develop and deliver safety briefings to employees to raise awareness on WSH best practices.
  • Evaluate WSH non-compliance, unsafe work conditions and practices to identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the impact of health hazards to employees' safety and prioritize issues based on severity.
  • Highlight barriers in complying with WSH policy and procedure to identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify areas for improvement in WSHMS to enhance the effectiveness of the system.
  • Implement EPRP and communicate it to stakeholders to ensure readiness and preparedness.
  • Implement WSHMS and Risk Management (RM) plans within the scope of own work to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain WSHMS documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor the implementation progress of measures to address root causes of incidents.
  • Review investigation findings to identify causes of incidents and accidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Support WSH policy and procedure implementation to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Must be registered as an Environmental Control Officer.
  • Well-versed in WSH Act and requirements.
  • Possess good working attitude.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
