Job Title: Marine Operations Manager

Description

The Marine Operations Manager oversees the maintenance and repair work on marine crafts. This involves organizing, leading, and deploying a team of Fleet Engineering Specialists to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

This role requires strong leadership qualities, problem-solving skills, and project management expertise. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent and good cross-discipline knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize, lead, and deploy a team of Fleet Engineering Specialists for maintenance and repair work on marine crafts.
  • Update the Fleet Engineering Management team on daily manpower deployment.
  • Coordinate with Fleet Operations daily for repair and maintenance of marine crafts and provide feedback on readiness for operations.
  • Drive Fleet innovation and/or newbuild projects.
  • Review inventory and non-stock items and propose recommendations for stock spares for maintenance and repair work.
  • Plan and monitor the maintenance schedule of equipment onboard marine crafts and in the workshop.
  • Engage external stakeholders for scheduled docking and project management of jobs.
  • Develop plans for the learning and development, performance, and discipline of the team of Fleet Engineering Specialists.
  • Mentor, coach, and motivate the team to achieve relevant targets and outcomes.
  • Work with key managers to create a conducive working environment.
  • Maintain proper documentation records of assets, jobs done, purchase for spares, special tools, and manpower utilization.
  • Identify emerging technologies and their application to operations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent.
  • Good cross-discipline knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering domain.
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrument systems and familiarity with electrical schematics diagrams and symbols.
  • Leadership qualities and flair for problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build cordial and effective working relationships.
  • Good communication skills including written and presentation skills.
  • More experienced candidates may be considered for a senior position.
