Job Title:
Lead Optical Systems Designer
  

This is a highly specialized role that requires a deep understanding of optical systems and their design. As a Lead Optical Systems Designer, you will be responsible for developing complex optical systems from concept to delivery.

  Responsibilities:  
  • Optical System Design: Develop detailed designs for optical systems, taking into account factors such as precision, performance, and cost.
  • System Integration: Oversee the integration of optical systems with other components, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Test and Characterization: Conduct thorough testing and characterization of optical systems to ensure they meet specifications and performance standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all design work, test results, and system configurations.
  • Manufacturing Process Development: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop efficient processes for producing optical systems.
  • Training and Quality Assurance: Provide training to engineers and technicians on optical system design, assembly, and testing, and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
  Requirements:  
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in optical alignment and characterization, with a strong background in optics and opto-mechanics.
  • Skills: Extensive hands-on experience in building and testing optical inspection or metrology tools, familiarity with Python and JavaScript, and strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in optics and opto-mechanics.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in applied optics, physics, or related discipline.
