Job Description

DBS Bank Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Associate to join our Central Risk Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of operational risk across Global Financial Markets (GFMO) operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Catch All for Exceptional Items: Perform thorough reviews of un-reconciled items, such as day-end payment completeness, trade pending validation, and outgoing free format swift (MTX99), to ensure all items are accounted for and ownership is established.
  • GFMO Risk Metrics Reporting: Coordinate and review risk metrics reporting for GFMO to ensure timeliness and accuracy in the monthly reporting process. Escalate consecutive Key Risk Indicators (KRI) breaches to the GFMO management team.
  • Operational Risk Reviews: Support and execute operational risk reviews across GFMO to ensure adherence to bank's standard requirements.
  • Trade Cancellation and Reissuance Events: Monitor trade cancellation and reissuance events in Dealer Metrics Workflow Tool (DMWT) and ensure all events are reviewed and approved by the respective Trading Desk Head as part of trade surveillance.
  • Location Oversight and Support: Provide location oversight and support to drive control/process standardization to the GFMO location operations.
  • Control/Process Improvements: Proactively identify opportunities for control/process improvements and collaborate with relevant process/control owners/GFMO location operations to implement strategic and sustainable solutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner and collaborate with diverse groups of stakeholders from various functions, including Audit, Finance, Operations COO Risk, Risk Management Group, GFM COO, and GFMO Location Operations, to drive and deliver bank-wide risk management initiatives and reviews.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant knowledge or work experience on Global Financial Markets Products and end-to-end Ops processes throughout a trade life cycle.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Bank's Treasury systems, including Murex, Front Arena, TZ, TRAX, etc.
  • Risk Management Experience: Relevant work experience in risk management, exposure to risk & control process, and cross-department collaboration will be an advantage.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Exhibits critical thinking skills and problem-solving mindset; able to think out-of-the-box with a good risk and control mindset to identify & challenge status quo/control or process gaps and recommend effective solutions or remediation plans.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong team player, good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Initiative and Reliability: Self-starter who consistently demonstrates a proactive initiative and reliability to complete tasks and achieve goals.
  • Multi-Tasking and Time Management: Able to multi-task; work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines and prioritize effectively.
  • Stakeholder Management: Good stakeholder management skills & collaborative mindset to work well with stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office.
