Job Title

Fire Protection Specialist

The Fire Protection Specialist will be responsible for planning, leading and managing consultant / contractors to implement fire protection design / installation throughout the project lifecycle.

During the construction stage, the Fire Protection Specialist will review fire protection design and construction drawings to ensure compliance with SCDF and BCA regulations. They will also provide optimization suggestions based on experience.

During the operation and maintenance phase, the Fire Protection Specialist will maintain the organization's EHS management system by inspecting the implementation of EHS management system, performing frequent audits on operational control, evaluating against legal regulations, EHS MS and other standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Stage:
  • Review fire protection design and construction drawings to ensure compliance with SCDF and BCA regulations.
  • Review contractor's fire protection system construction standards, equipment specifications, and SCDF acceptance requirements.
  • Approve installation MS, material submission and samples submission provided by contractors.
  • Liaise with stakeholders involved in fire protection system to resolve issues during design and construction.
  • Routine Operation:
  • Develop operation manuals and maintenance guides for fire protection systems.
  • Establish fire safety policies, fire safety operating procedures manual, and fire & emergency evacuation plans.
  • Equip fire protection facilities and equipment according to SCDF standards and industry standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of building fire protection facilities at least once a year.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, specializing in Fire Protection Engineering or related fields is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in fire protection system design, construction, and operation & maintenance for pharmaceutical and chemical plants.
  • Familiarity with and proficiency in Singapore's fire protection laws, regulations, and relevant standards.
