About the Role:

A prestigious hospitality group seeks a skilled and experienced leader to join their dynamic kitchen team. As a key member, you will support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation, presentation, and cooking methods meet established quality standards.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support senior chefs in managing kitchen operations and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist with menu planning and preparation, ensuring sufficient stock levels and mise en place are available.
  • Coordinate with restaurant staff on menu updates and availability.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Enforce inventory control, minimize waste, and uphold stock rotation procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.
  • Contribute to staff rostering and report operational issues to senior chefs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant culinary trade qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in a hotel, airline catering, or lounge setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
