Job Title: Ceramic Studio Technician

About the Role:
Ceramic Studio Technicians are responsible for overseeing the production of ceramic pieces, including designing and firing them in kilns. They will also plan exhibitions and events, set up equipment, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Main Responsibilities:
- Design and produce ceramic products for retail purposes
- Plan and execute exhibitions and events, including artist workshops
- Load and unload kilns, and fire ceramic pieces
- Set up, clean, and demonstrate the use of equipment and instruments
- Maintain inventories and order supplies in accordance with purchasing procedures
- Monitor and ensure a clean and safe working environment, with regular upkeep of work areas, equipment, supplies, and materials

Requirements:
  • A minimum diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery
  • Intermediate knowledge of ceramics, including throwing, trimming, and glazing
  • Able to make sake sets and teapot sets
  • Experience with teaching ceramics is an advantage
  • Passionate about working in the ceramics industry
  • Responsible and well-organized
  • Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with customers
  • A team player
  • Willing to work over weekends and public holidays
  • Meticulous, good organizational, and documentation skills
