Job Overview

This solar project coordinator position plays a crucial part in delivering high-quality solar projects on time and within budget. The operations-focused job requires exceptional coordination, attention to detail, and stakeholder management skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Project Development: Lead the development of rooftop solar assets by working closely with appointed EPC partners to create detailed project timelines, track progress, and adjust plans as needed to meet delivery milestones.
  • EPC Contracting and Delivery: Oversee relationships with EPC contractors to ensure contracts meet technical and commercial requirements. Monitor procurement, engineering, and construction activities to guarantee timely and high-quality delivery of solar assets.
  • Business Collaboration: Work with the Business Development Manager during contracting to align pricing and customer expectations with EPC execution; jointly manage EPC and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact between clients, regulators, subcontractors, and internal teams; facilitate communication, resolve cross-functional issues, and ensure alignment across all parties.
  • Permitting and Compliance: Secure required permits and approvals, coordinate with Licensed Electrical Workers (LEWs) and engineers, and maintain documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Financial Management: Track project budgets, control procurement and construction expenses, and identify cost-optimization opportunities while safeguarding quality and compliance.
  • Site Supervision: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, enforce workplace safety standards, and troubleshoot issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Project Handover: Finalize documentation, coordinate testing and commissioning, and ensure a smooth transition of projects to Operations department for long-term asset management.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Environmental Sciences, or another related field is required.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills are essential, along with hands-on experience coordinating EPC projects.
  • Familiarity with solar PV systems, EPC workflows, and construction processes is necessary.
  • Experience with procurement, contracting, and supplier/contractor management is also important.
  • Familiarity with permitting, regulatory, and compliance frameworks in relevant jurisdictions is required.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software is preferred.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills are vital for managing multiple moving parts and resolving issues proactively.
  • PASSION FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY AND SUSTAINABILITY IS ESSENTIAL.
Bonus Requirements:
  • A strong network in the solar EPC/renewables sector would be beneficial.
  • A certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) could be advantageous.
  • Tech-savviness is a plus.
