Senior Associate Position Overview
Temasek is a global investment company with a net portfolio value of S$389 billion. We are seeking to identify key sectoral developments and assess investment opportunities across various asset classes, including commodities, equities, and funds. Our purpose is to make a difference for today's and future generations by operating on commercial principles and delivering sustainable returns over the long term.

  • Identify key sectoral developments and assess investment opportunities
  • Model commodity data and produce ad hoc analysis
  • Build fundamental commodity supply and demand models
  • Conduct research and financial analysis on assigned sub-sectors and relevant companies
  • Develop financial models and presentations for internal evaluation and investment committees
  • Assist in structuring and consummating new direct investments as well as pursuing divestments where appropriate
  • Monitor existing portfolio companies and new direct investments against investment thesis
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with companies, research analysts, and other relevant institutions
  • Assist with team's regular portfolio reporting and periodic firm-wide strategic initiatives
Requirements
  • Excellent academic qualifications in any discipline and passion for investing
  • Min. 2 years of progressive working experience in financial markets, with focus on commodity/equity markets
  • Commodity investing, macro hedge fund, equity investing or research experience would be favorably looked at
  • Good understanding of financial markets and their short, medium and long-term drivers
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong financial modelling skill and ability to perform fundamental research on the commodity space
  • High level of interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well within diverse teams and collaborate across multiple stakeholders
  • Team player and self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently
  • Familiar with use of appropriate electronic data sources (e.g. Bloomberg, Factiva, Capital IQ, etc) for business and industry information research and productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Tableau, etc)
