The Security Vulnerability Remediation Lead plays a crucial role in managing the comprehensive process of addressing security vulnerabilities within the organization. This position demands a thorough knowledge of security protocols, risk assessment, and IT service management. The ideal candidate will work closely with various teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve security vulnerabilities through the implementation of patches and solutions, thereby safeguarding the organization's assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Vulnerability Oversight:

  • Collaborate intensively with the Cyber Security division on the vulnerability oversight program, focusing on the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of significant vulnerabilities.

Remediation Coordination:

  • Determine appropriate solutions for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Formulate and execute effective remediation strategies within specified timelines.
  • Monitor and manage the progress of remediation efforts, ensuring timely resolution of vulnerabilities.
  • Engage with stakeholders regarding any planned downtime necessary for remediation deployment.
  • Work alongside IT teams to apply essential patches, updates, and configuration modifications.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base for vulnerability remediation.

Risk Assessment:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct impact assessments.
  • Devise contingency plans for potential implementation issues.
  • Develop and execute strategies for risk mitigation.
  • Keep current risk registers and reports updated.

Service Management:

  • Ensure the provision of high-quality services in security vulnerability management.
  • Track service performance metrics and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Manage incidents and problems related to service delivery.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing the progress and status of the remediation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with established Service-Level Agreements.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and oversee a team of specialists involved in the remediation initiatives.
  • Delegate tasks, set objectives, and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Encourage a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing security vulnerabilities and remediation processes.
  • Strong grasp of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, ITSM).
  • Familiarity with security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI DSS).
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and assessment tools.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Extensive experience in executing security incident management and response.
  • Relevant certifications in Information Security or IT service management.
  • Familiarity with a range of software products, including Solaris OS, Linux OS, Windows OS, and various hypervisors.
