Early Intervention Educator Position Overview


Job Description

This role focuses on providing educational support to children with special needs in an early intervention setting.


The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the admission process and conducting initial screenings for potential clients, developing and implementing evidence-based programs or interventions tailored to individual client needs, planning, documenting, and reporting academic data and progress for each student, creating personalized lesson plans that incorporate curriculum mapping and individually-designed instruction, maintaining a safe and well-organized classroom environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, documenting and reporting on student behavior, and implementing strategies to address any issues.


Additionally, this educator will keep parents informed about sessions and progress through regular updates via text, photos, and videos, update case notes, maintain accurate records of student progress and communication with parents and school staff, collaborate with Allied Health Care Professionals to develop comprehensive support plans, plan and implement targeted interventions aimed at addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.


Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) or equivalent qualification, have a strong command of English, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Prior experience working with children aged 18 months to 6 years with learning disorders and/or disabilities is highly desirable. A degree in Psychology or relevant courses may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Knowledge of AEPS is an advantage.
