Workplace Mental Health Specialist

A critical role exists for an experienced mental health professional to oversee and provide clinical support services to enhance workplace mental well-being.

The key responsibilities of this position include providing consultation, training, counselling, and care for employees.

  • Counselling will be provided to staff members who seek support and linkage to suitable agencies for ongoing care.
  • The incumbent will respond to workplace incidents that affect employees' mental health.
  • Deployment of peer supporters will be carried out to address reported incidents.
  • Progression of incidents will be monitored, and necessary recommendations made.
  • Advice and support will be offered to management on issues related to employee welfare and crisis intervention.
  • Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Peer Support Program (PSP) will be developed.
  • Supervision and oversight of peer support group members and their activities will be provided.

In the event of a Civil Disaster, Emergency, or Crisis:

The following roles and responsibilities will be undertaken by the incumbent:

  • Operation of the peer support crisis team during activation will be overseen.
  • Collaboration with Emergency Operations will be carried out.
  • Group crisis interventions, such as debriefings or Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD), will be scheduled as needed.
  • Emotional support will be provided to crisis team members.
  • Operational and psychological debriefings will be arranged for activated crisis team members after the situation has stabilized.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counselling or postgraduate degree in psychology is preferred.
