Special Education Teaching Role

As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, the SPED Teacher plays a key role in providing high-quality learning experiences for students through expert curriculum delivery and instructional strategies.

The postholder will guide the teaching team, partner with families and allied professionals, engage in reflective practice, and strive to innovate and enhance teaching and learning practices continually.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and well-paced lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, utilizing evidence-based pedagogy and meaningful activities.
  • Proactively facilitate and manage the learning environment to boost motivation, behaviour, and opportunities for learning.
  • Establish strong relationships with students, creating safe environments that foster care and learning.
  • Develop data-driven, student-centred IEP/ITP processes for all students, supporting goal attainment through strategies implemented in partnership with families, allied professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Design and implement positive classroom routines to maintain a safe, conducive learning environment and promote student development and well-being.
  • Collaborate with allied professionals and internal stakeholders for effective planning and execution of development strategies.
  • Work closely with family members to support student learning across school, home, and community.
  • Manage communications with families to support students and school initiatives.
  • Monitor programme utilization records and adhere to organisational requirements.
  • Ensure health and safety policy adherence and proper equipment storage and maintenance.
  • Assist in CCA activities to enhance students' learning experiences.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a Singaporean or Permanent Resident.
  • Hold a Diploma in Special Education (DISE) conferred by NIE.
  • Registered teacher with the Ministry of Education.
  • At least 2 years' experience in special education settings.
