Structural CAD Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural CAD Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design department, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed shop drawings based on specifications, calculations, and information.

  • Create high-quality shop drawings that meet our company standards.
  • Ensure all drawings are up-to-date and accurately reflect the latest revisions.
  • Maintain control over drawing numbering systems and revisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create Shop Drawings: Develop detailed shop drawings based on information, specifications, and calculations.
  2. Drawings Control: Maintain drawing files, update drawings as required, and ensure all drawings are in keeping with company standards.
  3. CAD Proficiency: Utilize AutoCAD and drafting software to create accurate drawings.
  4. Communication: Explain drawings to Production or Construction teams and provide adjustments if necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in steel structure detailing preferred.
  • Tekla Structures software knowledge is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and drafting software.
  • Organized, meticulous, team player with a sense of responsibility.
