Echocardiology Technician Job Summary

As an Echocardiology Technician, you will be responsible for preparing examination equipment, managing patient stress, and producing high-quality imaging. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in echocardiography and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare examination rooms by checking equipment and replenishing supplies.
  • Manage patient stress by patiently explaining exam procedures and answering questions.
  • Position patients, apply medical gels and electrodes, connect and adjust equipment, and verify wave signals.
  • Produce high-quality imaging by accurately positioning transducer, monitoring display, listening to signals, adjusting beam strength and focus, detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities, and recording images.
  • Record examination details by printing data and graphics, producing measurements of heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity, and comparing measurements to established norms.

Requirements:

To succeed as an Echocardiology Technician, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an echocardiology technician.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
