Windows Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Position Overview

This is a senior Windows infrastructure position in the cloud, focusing on Windows Server administration and Microsoft Azure services. As a Windows Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will manage and support large-scale Windows Server environments on Azure, leveraging your expertise in PowerShell scripting and Azure automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Migration and Deployment: Perform cloud migrations of Windows workloads to Azure, using ARM Templates / Bicep / Terraform for efficient deployment and configuration.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and configure Azure IaaS/PaaS services, including Virtual Machines (VMs), Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, Azure Backup & Site Recovery, and Azure Monitor & Log Analytics.
  • Identity and Security: Configure and support hybrid identity solutions, such as Azure AD Connect and ADFS, and monitor infrastructure performance and security with Azure Security Center and Azure Sentinel.
  • Automation and Orchestration: Automate tasks and infrastructure provisioning using PowerShell or Azure CLI, and optimize Azure resources based on monthly metrics data statistics.
  • Documentation and Governance: Maintain documentation, perform capacity planning, and contribute to cloud governance policies, ensuring compliance and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • IT Infrastructure Experience: 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on Windows Server administration.
  • Azure Expertise: 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including deploying and managing Azure-based Windows workloads.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and skilled in PowerShell scripting and Azure automation.
  • Networking and Security: Experience with Azure networking concepts – VNets, NSGs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and solid understanding of security best practices in a cloud environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or higher.
  • ITIL Frameworks: Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and ticketing systems like ServiceNow, JSM.
  • DevOps Practices: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM / Bicep / Terraform.
