Job Opportunity: Horticultural Specialist

As a Horticultural Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting landscape operations while enhancing the beauty, sustainability, and ecological impact of outdoor spaces. We are seeking an experienced horticulturist to lead our team in delivering exceptional results across multiple projects.

  • Oversee maintenance and improvement activities at assigned sites, ensuring plant health, aesthetics, and compliance with project requirements. This includes conducting regular site inspections, monitoring plant growth, and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide expert advice on plant care, soil health, pest control, and sustainable horticultural practices to enhance visual and ecological quality. Our ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of native plant species, sustainable landscaping methods, and urban greenery standards.
  • Coordinate manpower and site logistics in collaboration with the Operations Manager, ensuring timely and resource-efficient execution. This includes managing staff schedules, ordering materials, and overseeing equipment maintenance.
  • Engage with clients and site stakeholders, attending meetings and addressing feedback to ensure satisfaction and alignment with project goals. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • Train and guide gardening staff, including onboarding new hires and promoting learning in best horticultural practices. Our team is committed to ongoing professional development, and we encourage our staff to share their knowledge and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Horticulture, Landscape Design, or Environmental Science. A Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in horticulture or landscaping. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of native plant species, sustainable landscaping methods, and urban greenery standards. Familiarity with local regulations and guidelines is also essential.
  • Comfortable with outdoor work and basic digital reporting tools. Our team uses industry-leading software to manage projects and communicate with clients.
  • Possess a valid Class 3 driving license (required for site mobility).
