Afloat Operations Specialist
Overview of the Role:The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining tug equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Key responsibilities include managing engine room and deck machinery operations, monitoring fuel consumption, attending to minor repairs and maintenance tasks, and assisting technicians during repairs and preventative maintenance programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:Manage the operation of engine rooms and deck machinery to ensure efficient and safe running of tug vessels.
Maintain accurate records of fuel consumption and perform routine checks on machinery and equipment to prevent potential issues.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required to maintain tug equipment in good working order.
Assist technicians with repairs and participate in preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
Monitor and handle towlines and equipment during tug operations, adhering to strict safety protocols.
To succeed in this role, you must hold a valid Port Limit Engine Driver (2nd Class) licence. A solid understanding of marine engineering principles and practices is also essential.
