Strategic Planning Officer for Unmanned Systems

The Careers@Gov organization is seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Strategic Planning Officer to drive strategic planning in the Unmanned Systems Technology, Engineering and Planning (UTEP) Division.
About the RoleWe are hiring a skilled professional to support management in planning and coordinating the strategic position and policies of the Unmanned Systems Group. The ideal candidate will have a passion for aviation and technology, with experience in corporate planning/policy roles and strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills.
In this role, you will be responsible for assessing key emerging trends and advancements in technologies and systems in the unmanned systems sector globally, and sense-making the implications for Singapore. You will also coordinate the Group's strategic position through preparing briefs, workplans, engagement with key stakeholders, and presentations at key forums and conferences.
As a Strategic Planning Officer, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive the Group's strategic interests, including Singapore government agencies, industry, institutes of higher learning, foreign civil aviation authorities, and research entities. Opportunities for overseas travel exist to engage international partners and drive thought leadership, maintain mindshare, and cross-learning of best practices.
Requirements- PASSION FOR AVIATION AND TECHNOLOGY, PARTICULARLY SHAPING THE FUTURE AND DEVELOPMENT OF UNMANNED SYSTEMS IN SINGAPORE
- EXPERIENCE IN CORPORATE PLANNING/ POLICY AND PLANNING ROLES IS A PLUS
- EXPERIENCE IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR IS A PLUS
- STRONG ANALYTICAL, PROBLEM-SOLVING, WRITTEN, AND ORAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- A POSITIVE CAN-DO ATTITUDE AMIDST A FAST-PACED AND DYNAMIC WORK ENVIRONMENT
- TENACIOUS, SELF-MOTIVATED, AND GOOD TEAM PLAYER WITH ABILITY TO BUILD CONSENSUS
- EXPERIENCE IN CROSS-FUNCTIONAL AND SENIOR STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
- GOOD ETHICS AND PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT, AND WITH STRONG SENSE OF CARE, RESPONSIBILITY, AND TEAMWORK SPIRIT
- PROFICIENT IN MICROSOFT OFFICE (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, OUTLOOK)
Salary: SGD 80,000 - 100,000 per annum. Appointment designation will commensurate with relevant work experience. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
