Job Overview:

The role of a Principal Building Designer involves leading the design and development of architectural designs for healthcare and hospitality projects. Key responsibilities include collaborating with senior designers to develop and implement space planning assignments, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, design documentation, and construction site supervision.

  • Develop and manage design activities to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations and coherent sets of design-focused tender drawings.
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other collaborators to achieve overall project objectives.
  • Ensure all designs meet local regulatory compliance requirements and codes.
  • Review shop drawings submittals and finish samples.
  • Conduct site observations to monitor construction progress and ensure design intent is fully realized at site.

Requirements include a Bachelor or Master's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design, experience in interior designing for hospitals or medical facilities, proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, and SketchUp, and strong skills in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software such as Revit.

A keen desire to produce well-designed and aesthetically pleasing spaces is essential. Familiarity with local building practices and codes is preferred but not necessary.
