About the Role:
The Department of Child Development offers a specialist diagnostic and intervention service for preschoolers with developmental, emotional, and/or behaviour needs.
- We support children with conditions such as autism, speech and language disorders, global developmental delay, ADHD, anxiety, selective mutism, oppositional defiant disorders.
- We place high emphasis on working with the child's family to facilitate the child's learning and development.
Job Description:
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessments for diagnosis of autism, intervention recommendations, and educational placements. You will deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to manage mood, anxiety, and behavioural issues. You will work across disciplines to deliver transdisciplinary services and have opportunities to be involved in research and service projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
You will need effective interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills, and good psychological report writing skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment is also essential. We prefer candidates with working experience with young children (i.e., toddlers and preschoolers) and/or with children with autism.
