IB Geography Teacher

We are seeking a qualified and passionate IB Geography Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Geography in an IB World School setting.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inquiry-based Geography lessons across the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP). They will differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and IB learner profiles.

  • Develop and implement curriculum units that align with IB standards and the school's strategic goals.
  • Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and improve Geography learning outcomes.
  • Encourage students to explore global, environmental, and spatial issues through a Geography lens.
Teaching Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Geography lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum units.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Non-Teaching Responsibilities
  • Supervise students during non-classroom hours.
  • Participate in school activities beyond classroom teaching.
  • Lead or assist in co-curricular activities.
  • Provide support with class coverage, materials management, and resource planning within the department.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography or a closely related field.
  • Recognized teaching qualification.
  • 2–3 years of teaching experience, ideally in an IB World School.
  • Familiarity with the IB MYP and IB DP Geography curricula.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Candidates with IB professional development training will be given priority.
