Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Deputy Head of Commercial Lines. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the commercial lines underwriting team and driving business initiatives to achieve growth and profitability.

  • Collaborate with brokers, clients, and agents to secure profitable business opportunities.
  • Lead market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Understand synergies between risk underwriting, reinsurance, and treaty programs to optimize business outcomes.
  • Strategize business initiatives and campaigns with distribution teams to drive new business acquisitions.
  • Design and execute training programs for intermediaries to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Lead the commercial lines underwriting team to achieve business targets and KPIs.
  • Establish productive relationships with key personnel in intermediary accounts to foster strong partnerships.
  • Perform regular market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Leads innovative solution projects to enhance user requirements and customer experience.

Requirements:

  • Recognized diploma or degree in a related discipline, with professional qualifications in General Insurance.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on relevant experience in underwriting commercial lines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Resourceful, independent, and able to grasp processes quickly.
  • Good understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
