At International Flavors & Fragrances, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Food Technologist in the Bakery category. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise in food science and technology to drive business growth.

About the Role

This is a Singapore-based position that will report to the Design Director for Bakery, Bars & Confectionery. As a Food Technologist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to customers and account managers to meet the company's business objectives. Your key focus areas will include:

  • Executing customer and internal projects to grow primarily in the Bakery category, with secondary focus on Bars and Confectionery.
  • SUPPORTING go-to-market Category plans for the ASEAN market.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and develop new or modify existing solutions, recipes, and/or processes. Your high standard of technical support will prioritize internal and external customers' needs, ensuring professional and timely responses within agreed timeframes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new or modify existing solutions, recipes, and/or processes.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers, prioritizing based on customer needs.
  • Maintain all soft and hard innovation databases and associated procedures to ensure compliance with IFF's global policies and Singapore's requirements.
  • Conduct pilot trials primarily on Bakery and related applications.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic operations of all Bakery processing equipment.
  • Maintain good maintenance and cleanliness of all laboratory equipment and the entire Bakery Laboratory area.
  • Ensure good stock levels of raw materials and consumable items at all times.
  • Adhere to all company policies, rules, and regulations, committed to quality and continuous improvement programs such as MS ISO 9001, GMP, HACCP, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Bakery industry and related applications.
  • Basic knowledge of dry compounded food ingredients, including raw material knowledge, product development (formulation), and business acumen.
  • Ability to execute commercial projects/briefs with minimal supervision, initiative, self-motivation, accuracy, attention to detail, professionalism, proactivity, creativity, innovation, computer literacy, logical thought processes, technical problem-solving skills, planning, and time management skills.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is around SGD $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience, plus additional benefits and bonuses.
