APAC Market Compliance Strategist

About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our market compliance efforts in the APAC region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including MAS OTC Derivatives Reporting.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing derivatives trading in APAC offices and developing risk-based compliance policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Oversee and support business units' derivatives trading in APAC offices
- Keep up to date with derivatives trading rules across regions
- Develop and maintain risk-based compliance policies
- Implement regulatory changes in collaboration with the global MCO team
- Advise business units on regulatory matters and approve new products/new business/cross border marketing activities
- Develop and maintain trade surveillance programs for derivatives trading
- Conduct compliance reviews/audits in concert with other departments
- Train management and staff on compliance matters and policies
Requirements:
- A degree in finance or a relevant discipline
- 6-10 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in a commodity trading business or a financial institution
- A strong understanding of exchange-traded derivatives and OTC derivatives
- An excellent track record in financial services, knowledge of the commodity trading business, and regulated exchanges
- Strong team player skills with the ability to work independently and make astute decisions
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
