Role Overview

As an Underwriter, Fine Art and Specie, you will be responsible for underwriting risks in accordance with our underwriting philosophy and within own authority limits. This involves managing the Fine Art & Specie portfolio, providing professional, prompt service to brokers and clients, and ensuring compliance with the terms of personal underwriting authority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite risks in accordance with our underwriting philosophy and within own authority limits.
  • Manage the Fine Art & Specie portfolio.
  • Provide professional, prompt service to brokers and clients.
  • Comply with the terms of personal underwriting authority.
  • Ensure that the Fine Art & Specie business is conducted, processed and administered in accordance with the prevailing applicable policies, procedures and agreed service levels.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Experience of Lloyd's market as Underwriter or Broker.
  • Detailed Fine Art & Specie product knowledge with strong understanding of pricing and policy wordings.
  • Chartered Insurance Institute qualification or equivalent.
  • Able to operate independently with little direction or guidance and strong team working approach.
  • Good verbal, written and professional presence and ability to communicate at all levels with excellent negotiation skills.
