Deliver Technical Success

Azul is seeking a seasoned Sales Engineer to drive technical wins across opportunities in the assigned territory. The role focuses on delivering solutions through pre-sales activities, discovery of business challenges, and demonstrating capabilities to validate the solution. As a mentor, you will guide other SEs to become successful in their roles.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Meeting with prospects and clients onsite and remotely to sell Azul product portfolio solutions (new and upsell)
  2. Conducting presentations and demos at all technical levels to communicate Azul's value
  3. Overseeing execution of product pilots and proofs-of-concept within a client environment
  4. Providing expert assistance to other SEs on pilot planning and execution
  5. Understanding and responding to proposals by aligning Azul capabilities with requirements
  6. Coordinating with additional team members to achieve the technical win
  7. Working with Account Executives on Territory Planning to create pipeline, grow accounts, engage and enable partners
  8. Building and nurturing existing clients for customer success and identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities
  9. Attending/presenting at conferences, workshops, roadshows to evangelize Azul and build funnel
  10. Demonstrating SME-level technical depth and breadth across Azul product suite
  11. Developing SME-level understanding of at least one key third-party technology
  12. Continuously increasing product/tech acumen through enablement sessions and hands-on learning
  13. Conducting training sessions and mentoring other team members; being a primary mentor to onboarding SEs

Requirements include:

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or IT-related discipline
  • Preferred: Master's or higher in IT or business-related discipline
  • Minimum three years of experience in a Sales Engineering role
  • Deep understanding of Java architecture and Java-based applications/frameworks (Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, etc.) with SME-level expertise in at least one related technology
  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies, providers (e.g., AWS) and container solutions (e.g., Docker)
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20%
  • Knowledge of sales processes (MEDDICC preferred) and CRMs (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface with groups of varying sizes and levels
  • Proven problem-solving, organizational, and ethical professional conduct; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask across client challenges and requests, sometimes outside normal business hours
  • Collaborative mindset with EQ to understand multiple perspectives
