Research Officer

We are seeking a skilled research officer to join our research centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and developing advanced algorithms. Key responsibilities include:

  • To undertake independent research in computer vision and machine learning.
  • To produce reports and/or publications as required by the funding body or for dissemination to the wider academic community.
  • To undertake any other duties relevant to the programme of research.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong background in machine learning and computer vision.
  • Publishing records in machine learning or computer vision conferences/journals.
  • Knowledge of scientific software like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.
  • Research experience after a pre-university diploma would be desirable - related field (preferably worked in R&D sector with industrial experience in the project-related field).
  • Demonstrated experience in operations planning, project management activities, resources, equipment, information and execution of projects.
  • Knowledge of safety: Familiarity with safety management systems in laboratory and pilot-scale test bed is preferred.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability and willingness to work some flexible hours.
