Art History Faculty Member

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic to join our institution as a faculty member in Art History. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting art-historical research, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, and participating in leadership/service duties.
The School of Humanities at our institution is committed to disciplinary excellence and interdisciplinary innovation, with a particular focus on Digital Humanities, Medical Humanities, Environmental Humanities, and the study of Global Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct art-historical research and publish high-quality articles and books.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses related to Art History, including introductory surveys, seminars, and specialized topics.
- Develop and lead new courses and programs in Art History, in collaboration with other faculty members.
- Mentor and supervise students, research staff, and/or postdocs, as well as mentoring junior faculty.
- Participate in departmental and college service, including committee work and administrative tasks.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A PhD in Art History or a related field.
- A strong publication record and a well-developed plan for future research and publications.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and a willingness to teach a range of courses in Art History.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
For Associate Professor and Full Professor positions, additional requirements include:
- Recognition in the research community, such as invited talks, awards, or memberships in professional societies.
- Proven ability to secure research funding.
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to curriculum development.
- A strong track record of supervising students, research staff, and/or postdocs, as well as mentoring junior faculty.
- Experience in leadership and/or service roles.
