Occupational Therapist Role Summary

The occupational therapist plays a pivotal role in ensuring elderly residents receive the care and support they need to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct initial assessments to determine individual care needs.
  2. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement regular care plan reviews.
  3. Develop and facilitate tailored therapy programs for elderly participants.
  4. Collaborate in integrated care planning.

In addition, occupational therapists will develop interventions for clients with dementia, psychiatric illness, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions. They will also evaluate and optimize therapy schedules, maintaining accurate documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in occupational therapy.
  • Full registration with the relevant professional body.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with patients with disabilities.
