Job Description:

The Communications and Advocacy Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the organization's communications strategy and supporting its advocacy goals through impactful storytelling, public engagement, and media relations. This position works closely with internal teams to build a strong, cohesive voice that resonates with stakeholders while driving awareness of animal welfare issues.

The ideal candidate will have experience in strategic communications, media and public relations, advocacy and campaigns, public and stakeholder enquiries, and general cross-functional support.

  • Strategic Communications: Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies to enhance the organization's visibility, credibility, and public engagement.
  • Media & Public Relations: Draft press releases and media statements; manage media queries and prepare regular coverage reports.
  • Advocacy & Campaigns: Support the planning and execution of advocacy campaigns that influence public awareness, behavior, and policy.
  • Public & Stakeholder Enquiries: Manage and respond to public and stakeholder enquiries received through various channels.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Communications/Marketing or related fields

Minimum 2 years in a similar position

Experience in the not-for-profit or animal-related sector an advantage

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Possess multidisciplinary project skills and able to work under pressure

Able to work independently and in teams, meticulous and detail-oriented
