About the Role

The Singapore-ETH Centre is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of robust infrastructure for effective application of AI in musculoskeletal health.

Job Description

This position involves working with a team of researchers to improve the management of the risk of injurious falls in Singaporean elderly. The successful candidate will develop infrastructure for the seamless integration of advanced model-based biomechanical markers of bone health into AI workflows.

  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure for efficient application of AI in this field.
  • Accelerate GNN/Tformer computations to run fast on consumer GPUs in a hospital setting.
  • Apply Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) for embedding X-ray based clinical scans, driving innovation in scientific AI applications.
  • Assist in applying for external funding to support research initiatives.
  • Co-supervise PhD, MSc, and BSc students.

Working closely with senior researchers and clinicians, the Post Doctoral Researcher will contribute to advancing AI-driven solutions for musculoskeletal health challenges.

We are part of the Singapore-ETH Centre, ETH Zurich's pioneering research hub in Singapore. Our centre collaborates with leading institutions in Singapore, tackling some of the world's most pressing health challenges through interdisciplinary research.

Requirements

To be considered, candidates should have a strong background in computer science, mathematics (especially optimization), parallel computing, compilers, performance optimization, and/or computer systems. They should also possess excellent communication skills, knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming languages, and experience in software development.

A good understanding of Bayesian methods and their applications in machine learning is desirable. Successful applicants must be able to work independently on complex topics and demonstrate high motivation. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
