Pastry Kitchen Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.

Your duties will include washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing and measuring ingredients, and preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards.

You will also operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, and monitor food quality while preparing food.

In addition to these tasks, you will be responsible for setting up and breaking down your work station, serving food in proper portions onto proper receptacles, and washing and disinfecting the kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.

You must be able to check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food, and follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of related work experience is preferred.
  • No supervisory experience is necessary.
  • No license or certification is required.
