We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to lead our Interdisciplinary Research Programme in Multi Energy Systems. This pioneering programme aims to bridge the gap between digital grids, microgrids, and other energy sources, including the hydrogen economy, large-scale renewable energy imports, and advanced thermal energy storage solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage your expertise in research and development, demonstration, and deployment of innovative energy solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic R&D focus areas and technical roadmaps for various energy sectors.
  • Negotiate and manage joint research and development agreements with industry partners, universities, and government agencies.
  • Oversee projects within the group and serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) for key projects, ensuring they meet their scientific and technical objectives.
  • Mentor research team members and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, research partners, university administrators, and industry leaders.

Requirements:

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A Master's or Ph.D. in Engineering, Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience with a proven track record in relevant research areas, including Artificial Intelligence, power grids, renewables, energy storage, and energy management.
  • Strong understanding of academic and industrial research landscapes and funding opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership experience in energy research, managing successful multi-million dollar projects.
  • Able to collaborate and lead interdisciplinary teams with diverse skill sets and expertise.
