Maritime Lawyer Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our legal team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background, preferably in Maritime Law or equivalent, and at least 8 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice to internal teams and coordinate with external counsel to maintain legal standards across all business initiatives.
- Handle legal matters related to maritime and admiralty law, especially in cross-border or industry-specific contexts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and corporate agreements.
- Support investment and M&A activities, including due diligence, structuring, and documentation.
- Collaborate with business units to manage legal risks, regulatory compliance, and operational alignment.
- Contribute to compliance efforts, corporate governance, and special legal projects as needed.
Key Requirements:
- Law degree with at least 8 years' legal experience.
- Background in commodities, maritime, shipping, or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
- Proven strength in drafting, negotiation, legal analysis, and contract management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational abilities, with capacity to juggle multiple projects under pressure.
- Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required to liaise effectively with Chinese stakeholders.
