About the Role

The Operating Theatre Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures. They are responsible for preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and assisting medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Surgical Preparation: Set up surgical instruments and equipment before procedures to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Sterilize equipment and perform routine checks to guarantee functionality and safety.
  • Patient Transport: Safely transport patients between the operating theatre and recovery bay.
  • Operational Support: Assist during operations by positioning and draping patients as needed.
  • Waste Management: Bag and clear all general and biohazard waste to maintain a clean environment.
  • Equipment Check: Regularly inspect and maintain OT equipment to prevent malfunctions.
  • Inventory Management: Manage OT inventory and restock supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Cleanliness and Preparation: Clean and prepare the OT for the next procedure to maintain high standards.
Requirements
  • Certification: Hold a Certificate/Diploma in Operating Theatre Practice or a related healthcare field.
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a surgical setting.
  • Skillset: Demonstrate knowledge of surgical instruments, endoscopy systems, and sterilization techniques.
  • Soft Skills: Showcase good organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork: Display strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
