PIPING ENGINEERJob Overview

The Piping Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the piping design and installation processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze project specifications, scope of work, and requirements to ensure all aspects are addressed.
  • Participate in regular meetings with clients to clarify engineering queries and provide updates on project status, including:
    • Technical Queries (TQR)
    • Status of Piping Insulation Documents and Drawings (isometric drawings, P&ID's, Piping GA's, etc.)
    • Supply status of FIM & DM piping materials
    • Engineering clarifications and proposals
  • Manage the master material take-off (MTO) and oversee the procurement and timely delivery of insulation materials.
  • Maintain oversight of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) status.
  • Collaborate with fabricators and project teams to ensure effective execution of insulation work.
  • Prepare documentation for additional claims or instructions to subcontractors (JCS/JCR/Site Instruction/Timesheet "A" and "AA").
  • Address engineering issues as directed by the department head and engineering manager.
  • Establish priorities for piping completion in coordination with other departments.
  • Ensure that work and materials meet the required quality standards and project timelines.
  • Supervise the fabrication and installation of piping components in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Organize and manage shop fabrication activities to ensure efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in marine shipyard operations, specifically in piping fabrication and supervision.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a proactive and motivated approach.
  • Ability to adapt to new work environments and lead projects independently.
  • Positive attitude and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
