Job Title: Senior Estimator

Role Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets and tender documents.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of accurate and comprehensive cost estimates and schedules.
  • Development of bid strategies and evaluation of subcontractor quotations.
  • Negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
  • Administration of pre- and post-contract duties including measurement and valuation of variations.
  • Effective management of procurement processes for subcontractors, materials and services.
  • Monitoring and controlling project costs to ensure financial performance.
  • Preparation of interim payment applications, final accounts and cost reports.
  • Review and certification of subcontractor claims, payments and settlements.
  • Collaboration with project managers, consultants and clients on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Maintenance of documentation and cost records in line with company and statutory requirements.
  • Support to the contract team in resolving disputes and mitigating risks.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or diploma in quantity surveying, building or construction management.
  • Minimum 3 years (senior estimator) or 5 years (lead estimator) of relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures and cost control methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • A team player with initiative and a proactive attitude.
