The role of the Communications function is pivotal in positioning NUS as a leading global university through innovative technology and workspace transformations, fostering staff and student engagement.

The incumbent will spearhead augmenting the department's communications capabilities by delivering impactful comms programs for staff, students, and beyond. Working closely with the Head (CITO's Office), they will design and implement a communication strategy that positions NUS and NUS IT as a trusted and forward-looking partner in technology and an employer of choice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to co-create communications strategies.
  • Synchronize communication and change management plans across IT teams to support key initiatives.
  • Lead the refresh of social media and outreach programs.
  • Develop strategic programs to grow the NUS IT brand through internal communications channels and social media platforms.
  • Curate and write articles for publication in reputable newspapers, technology societies, and journals.
  • Compose media releases and press statements for external communications, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Vet and oversee all internal and operational communications before release.
  • Assist in planning and project managing departmental and external engagement activities.
  • Support CITO and IT Heads in their speaking engagements and mass communications.
Requirements and Attributes:
  • Qualifications in Communications and New Media or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in the IT or Higher Education industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory and/or academic role.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Good stakeholder management, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Experience in change management and project management.
  • Empathetic, resourceful, strong drive for excellence, and passionate about making a positive difference.
