Chef Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned culinary expert to champion our kitchen operations, menu planning, and food preparation. The ideal candidate will have strong financial management skills, managing costs and inventory effectively to drive profitability.

The successful Chef Manager will lead by example, mentoring and developing the culinary team to maximise their growth as individuals and in their roles in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budgeting and daily culinary operations management.
  • Oversight of food quality and consistency, purchasing ingredients and supplies, inventory management, team training and scheduling.
  • Development and execution of authentic Italian-inspired menus that reflect the culinary concept's ethos.
  • Presentation of tastings as part of new product creation and continuous improvement of existing products and cost reduction.
  • Fostering a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, creativity, and professional growth among kitchen staff.
  • Analysis and provision of strategic business insights on food, labour, and overhead costs, offering advice on improvements to drive restaurant financial performance.
  • Maintenance of high standards of sanitation and food safety standards in compliance with local regulations.
  • Management of profit/loss reporting.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant culinary experience with a proven track record of managing casual culinary operations, preferably with Italian cuisine expertise.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • A good understanding of culinary financials, including cost control, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage team members and key stakeholders.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and dedication to guest satisfaction.
  • A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1).
