
Locum Clinical Specialist

As a locum pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the provision of quality patient care. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Review each patient's medication chart or prescription for appropriateness and contact prescribing doctors when necessary to ensure safe drug therapy.
- Fulfill all drug orders accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure that related costs and revenue are properly accounted for, adhering to hospital policies and legal requirements.
- Dispense medications to patients, explaining indications for drug therapy and instructions for administration.
- Provide drug information and lectures to other healthcare professionals, promoting ongoing education and development.
- Delegate, oversee, and review the work of assigned subordinates, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements regarding sales and supply of medicinal products, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to drug receipt, supply, storage, and distribution as required by the hospital and/or legal authorities.
- Represent the pharmacy department in various clinical committees and perform other job-related duties as assigned, demonstrating leadership and teamwork skills.
- Periodically review and implement schemes to improve pharmacy workflow, contributing to the continuous improvement of services.
- Supervise performance, conduct appraisals, write reports, and make recommendations for confirmation, promotion, and training needs of subordinates.
- Actively participate in Pharmacy education and development programs, enhancing professional knowledge and expertise.
- Practice continued reading of journals, publications, etc., for professional advancement, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
- Responsible for implementing and adhering to policies, practices, and regulations established by the department, hospital, and external regulatory agencies pertaining to pharmacy.
- Provide relevant training to pre-registration pharmacists and trainees, mentoring and guiding them towards achieving their full potential.
- Support the hospital by actively participating in various activities organized by the hospital, such as QC, community projects, staff welfare, and recreational activities.
