Job Description

The National University of Singapore is seeking a talented Data Science Research Specialist to join the Heat Resilience & Performance Centre (HRPC). The HRPC is a research centre dedicated to conducting cutting-edge research on heat resilience and performance.

This role will drive the development, execution, and analysis of research that leverages technology and data science to address challenges in training and operating in rising ambient temperatures.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with research PIs to develop research strategies and ensure timely project completion.
  • Designing research protocols and data analysis approaches based on the research agenda.
  • Leading and training research teams.
  • Project management and execution of required data collection and research plans.
  • Establishing and managing large databases.
  • Interpreting and analysing data using various methods and modelling techniques.
  • Generating reports and presenting data to stakeholders.
  • Presenting conference papers and submitting them to peer-reviewed journals.
  • Collaborating across teams and contributing to multiple research projects simultaneously.
  • Communicating with stakeholders to understand business challenges and potential solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Doctorate degree in a quantitative discipline, such as data science, computer science, or engineering.
  • Experience and interest in prediction modelling.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and programming languages.
  • Keen interest in heat health and human performance.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools in quantitative research.
  • Proven knowledge of data collection methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • International publications in human research.
  • Resourceful, self-driven, and able to multitask well.
  • High levels of attention to detail and quality.
  • Willingness to travel off-site and work beyond routine hours.
  • Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
