Tooling Engineer Role Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the tooling process from start to finish. This includes conducting thorough contract reviews, mold design and trial reviews, as well as attending project review meetings to ensure timely delivery.

Liaising with designers, manufacturing engineers, and planners is crucial in achieving on-time delivery. The candidate must provide regular updates and Gantt charts to the business development group, attend mold testing, and perform molding process optimization to achieve part consistency quality.

The individual will also study FA reports to rectify dimensional issues based on product form fit functions required by customers. Additionally, they will lead team problem-solving efforts, identifying root causes and providing solutions.

A key aspect of this role is liaising with suppliers regarding mold outsourcing and providing technical support to both business development and customers. The candidate will prepare quotations for engineering change requests and have the ability to evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems under minimum supervision.

Requirements
  • Diploma or NITEC in Precision Machining, Tooling Technology, or a related field
  • Experience in project management and tooling technical incline
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
